Gary Eisenstein is a native Chicagoan and third generation family member in the automobile business. His grandfather was a Hudson dealer in Chicago in the 1940s – ’50s, and in 1957 Gary’s father, Harold Eisenstein, opened a Plymouth-DeSoto dealership in Chicago Heights named Harold Motors, Inc. After college, Gary became a full partner in Harold Motors, which sold Chrysler-Plymouth-Mazda and Jeep vehicles in Olympia Fields, Illinois.
Gary spent more than 30 years as a dealer principal at Harold Motors, always focusing on his customers’ needs. Whereas straight-forward selling and fair dealing were (and remain) oddities in the auto industry, they were best practices executed everyday by the Eisenstein family, earning them a sterling reputation and loyal customer base. After selling the dealerships, Gary began the next chapter of his career, providing wholesale used vehicle brokering services to a number of auto dealers in Chicagoland, and began offering consumers auto buying assistance. Thus, Better Auto Buying was born! Gary has cultivated an extensive network of valuable relationships within the dealership community that are instrumental in getting the most favorable pricing and accommodations for his Better Auto Buying clients.
Today, Gary truly enjoys being on the other side of the transaction with his clients. As someone who’s always understood that great customer service is a right and not a privilege, there is no one better suited than Gary to be your auto-consumer advocate. He finds it most rewarding to help customers find the car they want in the most convenient way possible. Customer satisfaction remains Gary’s top priority, and he’s very proud of the glowing feedback he’s received from so many Better Auto Buying clients.
Gary graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a B.A. in Communications. He lives in Northbrook, Illinois and enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, biking, and of course, classic cars.
